Our Mission and Vision
At A New School, our mission is to nurture curiosity, resilience, and focus in every child. We believe learning should be fun, challenging, and confidence-building. Founded by educator Justin Chin, our programs are designed to give kids life skills through play, strategy, and imagination. Unlike traditional programs, A New School emphasizes mindset over memorization. We want kids to leave with tools for success in school and beyond.
About me
My name is Justin Chin
I am the founder of A New School. My passion for education comes from my own experiences growing up and the lessons I continue to learn every day. I’ve seen firsthand how important it is for children to understand that failure isn’t the opposite of success — it’s part of it. I want every child to feel the joy of discovering their strengths and knowing that the world is full of opportunities waiting for them.
After spending 12 years in corporate roles — ending as Sales, Planning, and Analytics Manager at a pharma company — I realized what excites me most is helping people grow and succeed. That same philosophy now guides how I work with children: fostering resilience, perseverance, curiosity, and creativity. I’m a father of two, and I try to model these values daily, reminding myself and my children that “if nothing changes, then nothing changes.”
At A New School, we believe it takes a village to raise a child. That’s why we put parents at the center of our education system, giving them control over what their children learn and how they spend their day. Our programs are flexible, creative, and designed to prepare children for a rapidly changing world, including the rise of AI. Whether through chess, Blockville, or other hands-on learning, we aim to make every child feel empowered, capable, and excited to learn.
